Brazilian Cherry or 'Jatoba' is distributed throughout South America. We source our Brazilian Cherry from reputable mills in Brazil. Jatoba has a lighter, more golden tone after surfacing, but darkens quickly to a reddish brown color. It has a medium texture and has a straight to wavy grain pattern.
Jatoba is very hard and dense with good shock resistance. Stable, durable and highly resistant to decay and termites. Excellent working properties. When finished it has a beautiful natural luster.
Used in fine furniture, tool handles, stair treads and high-end custom flooring.
