We inventory a full line of premium domestic hardwoods in a variety of pre-sorted widths, lengths and grades. With the latest in inventory software and a network of trusted suppliers, we match customer specifications to the strengths of different sawmills. Consistency in grade and color is our main priority when sourcing domestics. Our customers' success relies on our ability to purchase only the best FAS quality hardwoods and maintain an inventory to suit their manufacturing requirements.
In Receiving, our trained Inspectors check each board for grade, thickness uniformity, width and length. Lumber is evaluated for color and appearance, manufacturing quality and percentage of clear-wood. Strong communication between Sales and Purchasing is key in successfully serving customer needs.
After inspection, green lumber is placed uniformly on sticks and left to air dry under roof until moisture content is low enough for the kiln drying. We reinspect every board again after coming out of the kilns to check that the load has been properly stress-relieved and to remove any defect or downgrade that may have developed during the drying process.
Through strict quality control processes, we maintain a high level of consistency throughout each specie and grade of our domestic hardwoods.
