We inventory many width, grade and color sorts to meet almost every woodworking requirement, as well as offer custom sorting programs.
Our sorting software and technology give us the ability to select for width and length in increments up to 1/100th of an inch. TBM lumber inspectors manage our grading and sorting according to standard rules established by the National Hardwood Lumber Association. With close communication between our Sales department and customers, they understand the importance of consistency and yield when quality in our FAS and proprietary grade.
In core domestic species along with FAS grade, we offer a proprietar Clear One Face (C1F) grade. These boards are premium quality, clear on one face in one cutting and pre-sorted for width. C1F boards yield higher percentages of clear lumber for fine woodworking applications.
Width Sorts
We inventory 4/4, 5/4 and 8/4 FAS pre-sorted for width in 1" or 2" increments for core domestic species. Custom width sorting available upon request.
Length Sorts
Lumber is stocked in 6-7', 8', 9-12' and 13-16' packs. Specific length tallies available for every pack. Custom length sorting optional.
Color Sorts
Select species are sorted for color or heartwood/sapwood (ex. Red 1 Face Cherry, Sap1Face and Sap2Face Hard Maple and Soft Maple). See individual species pages for unique color sorting options.
Figure Sorts
Grain pattern or figure sorting available in select species including:
- Genuine Mahogany
- African Mahogany
- Rift/Quartered Red Oak and White Oaks
- Character or Rustic Grade (White Oak, Cherry, Hickory, Walnut and Wormy Chestnut)
