We offer over 50 different width and color-sorted options. Width sorting maximizes yield when purchasing for specific jobs. Color and grain-sorted material allows you to control quality and appearance to better meet customer expectations.
Sorting software and technology enables us to program width and length sorts in increments up to 1/100th of an inch. Inspectors grade according to National Hardwood Lumber Association standard rules and understand the importance of consistency and maintaining integrity and yield in our FAS and proprietary grades.
In core domestic species, we additionally offer a proprietary Clear One Face (C1F) grade. These premium boards are clear on one face in one cutting and pre-sorted for width. C1F boards yield higher percentages of clear lumber for fine woodworking applications.
Width Core species of 4/4, 5/4 and 8/4 FAS lumber is pre-sorted for width in 1" or 2" increments. Custom width sorting available upon request.
Length Lengths come in 6-7', 8', 9-12' and 13-16' RL packs. Specific tallies available for every pack. Custom length sorts available.
Color Select species are sorted for color or heartwood/sapwood (ex. Red 1 Face Cherry, Sap1Face and Sap2Face Hard Maple and Soft Maple). See individual species pages for unique color sorting options.
Grain/Figure Grain pattern or figure sorting available in select species including:
- Pattern Genuine Mahogany
- Ribbon African Mahogany
- Rift & Quartered Red Oak and White Oak
- Character or Rustic Grade (i.e. Antique White Oak, Rustic Cherry, Rustic Hickory, Rustic Walnut, Wormy Chestnut)
